How to use Prompt Suitcase

Prompt Suitcase turns the settings of your own custom GPT, which you copy and paste yourself, into a local backup and starting-point files for Claude and Gemini. It does not read ChatGPT pages. Everything happens inside your browser.

What it does

Takes the name, description, instructions, conversation starters, capability switches, knowledge file names, and an optional action schema that you paste or type.
Shows previews of six files: gpt.md, gpt.json, claude-project.md, SKILL.md, gemini-gem.md, and REPORT.md.
Lets you copy each file, or save all six as one ZIP.
English and Japanese interface. All features are free. No account needed.

Steps

Click the Prompt Suitcase button in the Chrome toolbar. The converter opens in a new tab. (If you do not see the button, click the puzzle icon and pin Prompt Suitcase.)
In ChatGPT, open your own GPT’s editor and go to Configure.
Copy each field yourself and paste it into the matching box in the converter. Put one conversation starter or one knowledge file name per line.
Tick the capabilities your GPT uses (web search, image generation, and so on).
Check the six file previews. Click Copy for a single file, or Download ZIP to save all of them.
Set up your project in Claude or Gemini by hand, using the files as a starting point. Re-upload your original knowledge files there.
On a shared computer, click Clear draft when you are done.

Frequently asked questions

Does it read my ChatGPT account or pages?

No. The extension has no access to any website, including ChatGPT. It only converts the text you paste into the converter yourself.

Where does my data go?

Nowhere. Conversion and ZIP creation happen in your browser. Your input is saved as a draft only in this browser until you clear it. Nothing is sent to us, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or anyone else. See the privacy policy.

Is it free?

Yes. All features are free. There is no account, subscription, or payment.

Are my knowledge files included?

No. Only the file names you paste are listed. Keep your original files and upload them again on the new platform yourself.

Does it move my GPT to Claude or Gemini automatically?

No. It creates text files you can use as a starting point. You set up the project on the other platform yourself. Capabilities and actions need manual setup there, and some may have no equivalent.

The ZIP did not save. What should I do?

If you closed the save dialog, you will see a “could not save” message. Just click Download ZIP again. Also check your browser’s download settings. As a backup, you can click Copy on each file and paste it into a text file.

My draft is gone.

The draft is stored only in the browser where you typed it. It is not shared with other browsers or computers. Some browser settings (for example, clearing site data) remove it. Converting and downloading still work without a saved draft.

Why are the output files in English?

The headings and notes inside the files are in English. The text you pasted is kept exactly as it was, in any language.

Why does it need the “downloads” permission?

Only to save the ZIP you ask for. It is the only permission the extension requests.

How do I delete my data or remove the extension?

Click Clear draft to remove your input and the saved draft. To remove the extension, open chrome://extensions and click Remove on Prompt Suitcase. Files you downloaded stay on your computer until you delete them.

Is this made by OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google?

No. Prompt Suitcase is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
